We use AES-256-GCM encryption — the industry gold standard. Our apps support WireGuard (default, fastest) and OpenVPN protocols. All connections use perfect forward secrecy, so even if a key were compromised, past sessions remain secure.
A kill switch automatically blocks all internet traffic if your VPN connection drops unexpectedly. AfroVPN includes both system-level and app-level kill switches.

Every AfroVPN plan includes protection for up to 6 simultaneous devices under one account.
AfroVPN supports WireGuard (recommended), OpenVPN (UDP and TCP), and IKEv2/IPsec. WireGuard is enabled by default.
AfroVPN is optimised for minimal speed loss. With WireGuard and servers built for African networks, most users see less than 5% speed reduction.
